Walk to Dine
Walking is an important aspect of a residents ADL's. We utilize the opportunity to have those who can walk do so into their meals and enjoy a dining room chair for their meal. Our restorative nursing aides coordinate this service.
Who would be a good candidate for this?
Residents who have limited endurance for ambulation are part of this program. This process allows them to walk into our dining room and be seated in their dining room chair giving them a home like feel.
What benefits will the patient receive from having this done?
Residents experience an improved psychosocial benefit being without their wheelchair, as well as an additional avenue for exercise and walking.
