Absolut Care of Allegany is a thirty seven (37) bed facility located in the rolling hills of Cattaraugus County, 2 miles west of Olean, in the quaint Village of Allegany. Our facility specializes in short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, provided in a “bed and breakfast” style environment. We offer private and semi-private accommodations and we encourage our residents to personalize their surroundings with cherished mementos and favorite possessions from home. Our room fee includes cable television service in our “Rehab to Home” suites. Telephone service is a private service that must be arranged by the resident. It can be arranged by calling the local telephone service provider. The bill will be sent to the resident/family member by the telephone company.
While the healthcare industry suffers from a high turn-over rate for direct care and clinical staff, we are proud to point out that many of our staff are long term employees. Their dedication is the cornerstone of our commitment to providing the highest quality of care for our residents. It is the primary reason that many of our residents and families return to us when future health care needs arise.
Our Physical and Occupational Therapists are full-time employees of Absolut Care of Allegany. They are fully invested in the successful treatment and rehabilitation of our residents. Our “Care Partnership Program” aligns our Rehab staff closely with a resident’s personal physician/surgeon, so that the prescribed protocols may be implemented and an individualized treatment plan can be developed to meet each resident’s needs. Therapy services are offered 5 days per week, when prescribed, allowing residents the opportunity to progress more rapidly toward their return home.
Our Nutritional Services are supervised by our full-time Registered Dietitian and special attention to personal preferences is the norm. Meals are provided “restaurant-style” in our beautifully appointed dining room. Specialized diets are available based on individual needs. Our activity program offers many different options each day and special events to enhance the quality of life for our residents. Our residents enjoy the many inter-generational activities that are coordinated jointly with our neighbors at Allegany/Limestone Elementary School and St. Bonaventure University.
Residents enjoy their regular trips to the mall, local restaurants, etc. Resident Council is very active in helping to make decisions regarding the care of other residents. As a result of their fund raising, they have purchased items such as a water fountain, large screen TV and a Cricuit which they utilize to make cards, scrap booking, etc.
At Absolut Care of Allegany, we also specialize in caring for residents and their family as the end of life approaches. Our staff are specially trained in palliative care and are sensitive to the difficulties that residents and family members experience during this time. Our residents are part of our family and we never lose sight of the important role they play in their own family.
